CWU's North West No 1 Branch  Mourn The Loss Of A Dedicated Branch Representative

The loss of loved one and in this case, a dedicated and loved CWU Branch rep, is terribly sad at the best of times, but with Christmas on the horizon next month; it is particularly hard on the family and relatives.

The sudden and unexpected death of CWU's North West No1 Branch representative was announced by the Branch on Saturday morning.

Mark Holt, Branch Rep and CWU NW Regional Health and Safety Lead Officer said on their Group's WhatsApp account:

"It’s with great sadness that we have heard the news that Paul Fenney Area Delivery Representative for North West No1 Branch has passed away early this morning.

Our thoughts go out to Paul’s wife, Jennifer, and their three children at this incredibly sad time.

Paul represented our union and members for nearly 30 years. He began his career at Wigan D.O where he soon became the local CWU representative, he then went on to become the area representative of Wigan Amal which later merged to become North West No1 Branch.

Having just won his job back in the Lord faulkner review after being wrongfully dismissed in the dispute, the news of his passing is incredibly sad.

Paul was a devoted husband and dad, and our thoughts go out to Paul’s family at this time.

Rest in peace, Paul. You will be missed.
"

Paul Fenney's funeral is on 21st December at 1.00 pm. at St Cuthbert’s church in Wigan.
